Registered Nurse First Assistant - RNFA

Location: Dayton, OH
Great opportunity for a Registered Nurse First Assistant - RNFA ​position at a hospital located in Southwest, Ohio. 

This is a day shift position with on call once a week after your shift and one weekend a month.

Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse First Assistant - RNFA:
  • Under the direction of the Surgery Manager and / or Charge Nurse, performs a variety of duties, preparing for, assisting during, and cleaning up after surgical procedures. 
  • Also functions within the job description of a scrub nurse and circulating nurse.
  • Provides patient care in accordance with hospital and nursing policies, procedures and standards of care.
     
Requirements of the Registered Nurse First Assistant - RNFA:
  • Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing and currently licensed to practice nursing in the State of Ohio.
  • Must have completed an approved RNFA program.
  • Experience as required for RNFA course (minimum of 2 years of perioperative nursing, scrubbing and circulating; CNOR certified.)
  • Basic computer skills (Windows/keyboarding)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external customers, including medical staff, clinical personnel, patients and families, outside agencies and members of the community.
  • Job requires performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure (multi-tasking).
  • Job requires performing under stress when confronted with emergency, critical, unusual, or dangerous situations or in situations, in which working speed and sustained attention to detail are essential.

The city is situated within a one hour driving distance to Dayton, Cincinnati, and Columbus. This city has many festivals throughout the year including Oktoberfest, Corn Festival, Music Festivals, etc.  If you love the outdoors, this is the place for you with a golf course, nature preserves, and state parks nearby.  The town is also home to many independent business owners and antique shops.  They even still have a covered bridge in town!  If you are looking for a small town where everybody knows their neighbors, a low cost of living, yet close to big cities, this is the place for you.
