Biomedical Technologist

Location: Elma, WA
Currently seeking a Biomedical Technologist near Olympia, WA and the Pacific Ocean. 
The responsibilities of the Biomedical Technologist:
  • Must be comfortable in repairing equipment and keeping track of it too.
  • Provides safety checks, repairs, calibration and preventative maintenance to patient monitors, nurse’s stations, EEG machines, O.R. monitors, blood flow meters, electrosurgical units, defibrillators, electronic thermometers, transport incubators, sterilizers, and other bio-medical instruments.
  • Provides assistance to nurses, technicians, and operators of biomedical equipment in case of technical and/or operational problems.
Requirements of the Biomedical Technologist:
  • Associate degree in Biomedical Technology or equivalent; experience required; 3-5  years related experience to acquire competency in applying biomedical and electronics principles required. 
  • Biomedical Equipment Technician Certification by the International Certification Commission preferred;
  • Working knowledge of electronic test equipment;
  • Familiarity with approved safety-testing procedures;
  • Knowledge of electronic circuitry and troubleshooting; interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and illustrated parts drawings of medical  instrumentation;
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair technical and mechanical problems; read color codes on wiring and electronic components and working knowledge of physiology.
