Emergency Room Nurse

Location: Newport, VT
Currently seeking an Emergency Room Nurse in the northern area of Vermont.  This is a full time position with rotating shifts.
  • Varied, 12 hour shifts, days/nights and weekends.
  • Offering Sign on Bonus and Relocation Assistance 
  • All of thier Emergency Physicians are Board certified in Emergency Medicine and work collaboratively with nursing in a team dynamic.
  • Specialty certification CEN certified emergency Nurse is encouraged and reimbursed.
  • They have on site ACLS PALS and BLS classes which are all free for employees.  Other required courses such as TNCC are provided and reimbursed.

Responsibilities of the Emergency Room Nurse:
  • Utilizes the nursing process to independently deliver nursing care to patients in order to achieve quality outcomes. 
  • Communicates need for guidance/supervision based on self-assessment of strengths and limitations. 
  • Promotes a positive image of nursing and promotes collegiality among healthcare team members.  

 Requirements of the Emergency Room Nurse:
  • Graduate of a nursing program; associates degree or bachelors program
  • Valid and current Vermont License
  • At least 2 years of ED or critical care experience
  •  Basic Life Support (BLS), and  Advanced Life Support (ACLS)required. PALS and TNCC must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

This facility is a private, nonprofit acute care community hospital serving communities in the Northeast area of Vermont.  This hospital provides care to the many area visitors, summer vacationers, skiers, and other sportsmen.
